Borongan City Mayor expresses support to Bongbong’s VP bid

Borongan City – Mayor Fe Abunda of this city, a Liberal Party bigwig in Eastern Samar, have personally conveyed her support to the Vice Presidential bid of Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. when the latter visited the city on 25 April 2016 as part of his campaign finale for the 2016 national elections.

Abunda, a sister of television host Boy Abunda who is a close friend of Kris Aquino, said that she is supporting Marcos because of the good things that his father had done in Eastern Visayas to include Eastern Samar. Sen. Marcos is the namesake of former President Ferdinand Marcos, Sr. 

Supporters who went to the Provincial Capitol of the province said that they will support Marcos for being a son of Region VIII. “If there is a so-called solid north, we have a solid Region 8 for Bongbong,” Jun Camposano said in dialect. 

Marcos, meanwhile appreciated the pledge of support given to him by the people of Eastern Samar. He also thanked the city mayor for endorsing him. 

Eastern Samar Governor Conrado Nicart, Jr. (LP) also welcomed Marcos to the province. The governor said he has always been a good friend of Romualdezes and Marcoses. “I have always felt at home because of the warm welcome I get from Samarenos,” Marcos said in a statement. Marcos was accompanied by senatorial aspirant Martin Ferdinand Romualdez.
