Closing Ceremonies up for Samar Millennium Road Project

Borongan City – Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) will be conducting closing ceremonies on its funded Secondary National Road Development Project (SNRDP) on 19 May 2016 at Provincial Capitol Compound, this city.

The said activity will be started by a Fun Run in the city at and simultaneously a bike fun ride will be conducted from the municipality of Taft to Borongan City. A motorcade will also be conducted from Guiuan to Borongan. 

The activity is set to highlight the accomplishments of the 222-kilometer road rehabilitation stretching from Wright, Paranas, Samar to Guiuan, Eastern Samar. 

Engr. Rudy Arias, SNRDP Director, said that the road rehabilitation is basically to help improve economic activity in the province especially in agriculture and tourism sectors. 

Expected to be among the high profile visitors are US Ambassador to the Philippines Philip Goldberg, MCC Resident Country Director John Polk, MCAP Managing Director and CEO Ma. Victoria Añonuevo. 

Also expected to attend is Sec. Rogelio Singson of Department of Public Works and Highways. (Jeymar Grafil)
