Eastern Samar police gets 25 patrol motorcycles

Borongan City, Eastern Samar – The Eastern Samar Provincial Police Office (ESPPO) was granted 25 units of Patrol Motorcycles to increase police visibility in its area of responsibility from the PNP Regional Office 8 (PRO 8) in a simple turn-over ceremony at Camp Kangleon, Palo, Leyte on 01 August 2016.

The turn-over rites was led by Acting Regional Director Police Chief Superintendent Elmer Beltejar and Police Senior Superintendent Pio Lahir Manito, OIC, Regional Logistics Division and was received by Police Senior Superintendent Tranquilino Araral III. 

Araral said that patrolling is the backbone of PNP operations. “With the intense patrolling conducted by the police officers in the field, the PNP higher command observed a downtrend of crimes as reported from the field,” he said. 

Both the PRO 8 and ESPPO are grateful for the additional logistical support provided to the police to increase its mobility and visibility. 

The recipients of these motorcycles are: Arteche MPS- 1 unit; Balanginga MPS- 1 unit; Balangkayan MPS- 1 unit; Borongan CPS- 1 unit; Can-avid MPS-1 unit; Dolores MPS-1 unit; Gen McArthur- 1 unit; Giporlos MPS-1 unit; Giporlos MPS- 1 unit; Guiuan MPS-1 unit; Hernani MPS- 1 unit; Jipapad MPS -1 unit; Lawaan MPS – 1 unit; Llorente MPS- 1 unit; Maslog MPS-1 unit; Maydolong MPS-1 unit; Mercedes MPS- 1 unit; Oras MPS-1 unit; Quinapondan MPS-1 unit; Salcedo MPS-1 unit; San Julian MPS-1 unit; San Policarpo MPS-1 unit; Sulat MPS- 1 unit; Taft MPS- 1 unit; PPSC-1 unit; and ESPPO- 1 unit. 

With these police motorcycles, the police can now quickly respond to any accident or incident that needs police assistance and response. 

The acquisition will also boost the police – community relations in the locality and can also be readily used as escorts in any civilian activity. 

Its diversity and adaptability to current social trends certainly make the motorcycle unit an indispensable and relevant part of any modern law enforcement agency today.
